About Ms. Haynie
This is my 13th year as an educator with all 13 of those years being with the Wake County Public School System. Prior to working at East Cary Middle School, I taught high school science at Middle Creek and Knightdale High Schools. I also completed my principal internship at A.B. Combs Magnet Elementary School during the 2012-2013 school year. I hold licensure in Grades 6-12 Science and K-12 Principal. I received my B.S. in Secondary Science Education from North Carolina State University in 2004, my Master's in School Administration from The University of North Carolina at Chapel-Hill in 2013, and earned my National Board Certification in Early Adolescence Science in 2014. I was selected as East Cary's Teacher of the Year for 2016-2017 and a semi-finalist for WCPSS Teacher of the Year for 2016-2017.
My other teacher leadership roles at ECMS include: School Improvement Chair, Teacher Leader Corps member, Mentor teacher to WCPSS beginning teachers and NC State student teachers, and organize international travel trips for ECMS students and families. In my spare time, I enjoy spending time with family and friends, exploring Raleigh and the surrounding areas, traveling the world, live music, movies, reading, attending NC State and the Carolina Hurricanes sporting events, and relaxing. I'm so excited for another year and I look forward to an awesome 2016-2017 school year with you!
